Let other people have their own concerns
An Echo does not need to care that Samir was king. A cook can care about a missing pan. A child can care about a game. A clerk can care about a form being filed incorrectly.
The crownless traveller
Samir is the former king of Qamaris and the player character moving through what remains. Contributions around him work best when the world remains larger than his own story.
An Echo does not need to care that Samir was king. A cook can care about a missing pan. A child can care about a game. A clerk can care about a form being filed incorrectly.
He can discover parts of Qamaris he never understood from the court: domestic routines, workplace frustrations, local jokes, family histories and quiet resentments.
A contribution can show how different people experienced the same kingdom. Respect, indifference, affection, disappointment and misunderstanding can all coexist.
IDEA STARTERS
An Echo who remembers the royal court but cannot place Samir's face.
A household object showing a life completely untouched by palace concerns.
A side story where Samir mostly listens while two Echoes argue with each other.
A guard who still performs a formal salute toward an empty doorway instead of toward Samir.
A child Echo who recognises the crown emblem only as a shape used in a street game.
A shopkeeper who remembers a tax rule more clearly than the king who approved it.
FROM SPARK TO CONTRIBUTION
A Samir-facing scene can reveal the kingdom without turning into a speech about Samir himself.
A baker Echo keeps setting aside the same wrapped loaf for a customer who never collected it.
He can ask who it belongs to, but the baker is more annoyed about wasted bread than interested in explaining history.
A delivery token elsewhere gives the customer's name and neighbourhood.
The scene makes the final ordinary day of Qamaris feel interrupted rather than mythologised.
Samir witnesses somebody else's unfinished life instead of becoming the subject of it.
